Equipment upgrade questions.
Do I need a variable-speed pump?
If your single-speed pump is failing, California energy rules generally require replacement pool pumps to be variable-speed. Even if yours still runs, a variable-speed pump is much quieter and can lower your electric bill. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth doing now.
Should I repair or upgrade my equipment?
It depends on the age and condition of the equipment and what the repair costs. We diagnose first and give you both options with clear prices so you can decide. Need a fix instead? See our pool equipment repair page.
How long does an equipment upgrade take?
Many pump, filter, and light upgrades can be done in a single visit, and we usually schedule within the same week. Heaters and automation can take longer depending on parts.
Are you licensed to install pool equipment?
Yes. The Goods Pool Service is a licensed pool contractor (CA Lic. #1145343), bonded and insured, and CPO certified.
Are there rebates for energy-efficient pool pumps?
Some utilities have offered rebates for variable-speed pumps. Ask us and we’ll point you to what’s currently available for your area.
Do you upgrade equipment for HOAs and rentals?
Yes. We work with homeowners, HOAs, property managers, and commercial pools.
