Pool Service With an App: How The Goods Compares

Most pool companies in Roseville and the Sacramento area work the same way. Someone cleans your pool, leaves a sticker or tag on the control panel, and a QuickBooks invoice shows up in your email a few weeks later. You never really see what was done, and your bill lives somewhere else entirely. At The Goods Pool Service, everything runs through one place: our own app and client portal. Here is how that compares, side by side.

A report in your app, not a sticker on the control panel

A sticker on the equipment pad tells you someone stopped by. It doesn’t tell you if your chlorine was low, which chemicals went in, or whether the walls were brushed. You also have to walk out to the side yard to read it, and by the next visit it’s faded or covered by another one.

With The Goods, every visit ends with a report that’s emailed to you and saved in your app. It includes:

  • A photo of your clean pool, taken right after we finish.
  • Your water chemistry: free chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, CYA, and salt for salt water pools. Each reading shows its target range and turns green when it’s right, or red when it needs attention.
  • What we did and what we added, with every chemical listed by name and amount.
  • Before and after photos of your filter and salt cell when we clean them.

That matters in the Sacramento valley. When July runs past 100 degrees, chlorine burns off fast and a pool can start to turn in a few days. With your numbers in your app after every visit, you’re never guessing. See a sample pool service report to know exactly what you’d get.

No QuickBooks. Your bill lives in the same app.

A lot of pool companies send bills through QuickBooks, a Square link, or a lead site like Thumbtack. The service happens in one place, the invoice comes from another, and the receipt ends up buried in your inbox.

We built billing right into our own app. When your monthly invoice goes out, you get an email and a text from George’s own number saying what the bill is for. Then you can:

  • Pay right in the app, or turn on autopay and never think about it.
  • Pay by Venmo, Zelle, cash or check, and George marks it paid for you.
  • Pay by card with no card fee. One price, no surprises.
  • Find every invoice and receipt in one place, including equipment work like a new pump or filter.

Everything for your pool, in one center

Your app is home base for your pool. Instead of digging through texts, tags and emails, you log in and see:

  • Every visit report and photo, newest first
  • Your water chemistry over time
  • Filter cleanings (twice a year on full service) and salt cell cleanings, each with the date, time, and before and after photos
  • Your pool size and equipment
  • Your invoices, payments and receipts

HOAs and property managers get their own view, so one login shows every property we service. If you manage more than one pool, see our property management pool service and HOA pool service pages.

You get paid to be our client

Most pool companies send you one thing every month: a bill. We send you money too. When a friend or neighbor starts monthly pool service with us and keeps it for at least two months, we pay you $50. There’s no limit, and chemical-only and full service both count. Refer three neighbors who stay and that’s $150 back in your pocket.

It pays to be our client. See how it works on our pool service referral program page.

What stays the same: honest, hands-on pool care

The app is the new part. The pool care is the same as it’s been since 2017. George is a licensed California pool contractor (CA Lic. #1145343) and CPO certified, and he’s the one who services your pool every visit, not a rotating crew.

  • Chemical-only service starts at $120 per month, chemicals included.
  • Full service starts at $155 per month and adds brushing, skimming, emptying baskets, and filter cleaning twice a year.
  • Not happy with a visit? Text within 48 hours and George comes back to make it right.

Your exact price depends on your pool size, whether you have a spa, and how many leaves your yard drops. Our pool service price calculator gives you a price in about 30 seconds. Thinking about leaving your current company? Here’s how switching pool companies works.

No. Every visit report is also emailed to you, and the client portal works in any web browser. The app just keeps everything in one spot on your phone.

Is there a fee to pay my pool bill by card?

No. You pay one price whether you use a card, autopay, Venmo, Zelle, cash or check.
